The Highland School District will not be in session on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Many secondary and rural roads within our district boundaries remain unsafe for bus travel, making it challenging to ensure the safety of our drivers and students.
We understand that both teachers and students are eager to return to the classroom, but the safety of our school community remains our top priority.
We are hopeful that road conditions will improve and that we can safely return to campus on Thursday, January 16. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep our families informed of any updates.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Please note the following calendar updates due to winter weather:
The HSD will now be in session on January 20, February 17, March 21, April 18

Although road conditions have greatly improved from the recent winter weather, many secondary and rural roads in our district are still unsafe for bus travel. Therefore, the Highland School District will not be in session on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

With the condition of many secondary and rural roads within our area from winter weather, the Highland School District will be closed on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Thank you

National Beta is proud to announce Highland School District as a 2023-2024 National District of Distinction. This award is given to those deserving districts who offer National Beta in all schools in their district, and who induct qualifying students in all eligible grades (4‐12). Highland is one of only 64 districts to receive this award nationwide.
We are very proud to receive this distinction. It speaks highly of our commitment to excellence, leadership development, and service involvement and illustrates our dedication to preparing students for college and career readiness. Our district understands the importance of these qualities and exemplifies the Beta motto, Let Us Lead by Serving Others.
