Cherokee Elementary teachers Courtney Arnold, Jamie Martin, and Patti Abney recently earned National Board Certification. Highland Superintendent Don Sharp presented "Above and Beyond" Certificates in recognition of their hard work to achieve this certification.


The Highland School District's board voted today to continue to follow the CDC and Arkansas Department of Health recommendations in wearing masks while on school campus, buses, and school activities for the remainder of the school year.

Tomorrow will also be spring picture day and Kindergarten graduation picture day at the Cherokee Elementary School.

The Highland School District will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and Arkansas Department of Health by requiring students and staff to wear a mask while on school campus. The school board and administration will review our current policy and if changes are made we will notify students and parents at that time. We want to ensure our students and staff remain safe and healthy as we continue through the remainder of the school year.

Cherokee Elementary is now accepting classroom teacher requests for the 2021-2022 school year. If you would like to request a particular teacher for your student you may contact the elementary school office now thru March 31st. Please give them 2 options in case your 1st option is already filled. No requests will be accepted after the deadline.

Cheerleading tryouts for the 21-22 school year will be held on March 8th, 10th, 15th and 17th at the middle school gym from 3:30-5:30 for students in grades 6-11.

Highland School District will resume tomorrow, February 23rd for on-site learning for students and staff. Buses will run their normal routes at their normal times. Meals for virtual students will resume tomorrow at their regular times and locations as well. We look forward to seeing our students and staff tomorrow!

The Highland Sr. Boys Basketball team will play Trumann at Highland in the first round of the District Tournament on Monday, February 22. The game will be played at the High School gym and will begin at 6:00 p.m. You must have a voucher to enter the game. General Admission Vouchers can be picked up at the High School Office starting at 8:30 a.m. until they are gone.
