Due to the current weather forecast and the expectation of hazardous road conditions in the morning, the Highland School District will be closed on Thursday, February 3, 2022. The District will use AMI Day 4. Students and staff should follow AMI plans. Students should contact teachers via email with any questions concerning AMI assignments. With news from the Governor's press conference yesterday, the Highland School District’s Covid quarantine guidelines have changed. The following will result in a student or staff member being quarantined:
1) Positive for Covid-19
2) Showing signs or symptoms of Covid-19
3) Live in the same household with a person who is Covid-19 positive
Students and staff considered close contacts to positive household members may test-to-stay. Contact your child’s school nurse for further information. The Highland School District is considered to be in the high-risk category for known Covid-19 infections. Masks are still required until further notice. The Trap/shooting sports meeting scheduled for today has been postponed until Monday, February 7, at 5:30 in the High School Cafeteria.

The Highland School District will dismiss today at 1:00 pm. Buses will dismiss from High School at 1:00 pm-High School car riders will be dismissed after buses at High School. Elementary car and activity riders will be dismissed at 1:00 pm. We will follow normal dismissal pattern starting at 1:00 pm.

There will be no after school tutoring today at Highland Middle School.

The Jr. and Sr. Boys games at Valley View scheduled for today have been postponed.

STUDENT COVID VACCINE CLINIC: 1st Choice Healthcare in Ash Flat will have a student Covid vaccine clinic FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11, for Highland students ages 5 and older at no cost! The Pfizer vaccine is approved for students 5 and up and will be the only vaccine administered to students 17 and younger. We encourage you to call 994-2202 to schedule an appointment! Walk-ins are welcome. Parents must accompany any student under 18 and complete a consent form. Students will be required to wait 15 minutes after the shot for observation. Highland students receiving the initial vaccine doses can show their vaccine card to school office staff and receive a $25 gift card. Students will not be counted absent to leave school to receive the vaccine.
