During last night’s monthly board meeting, we took time to recognize and celebrate our School Board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Month.
Our school board plays a vital role in the success of the Highland School District. Through thoughtful leadership, sound decision-making, and a deep commitment to students, they help shape the direction of our schools and ensure opportunities for both present and future generations. Their service makes a lasting impact not only on our district, but on our entire community.
As a special surprise, the boardroom was beautifully decorated by some of our 3rd and 5th grade teachers, adding a meaningful, student-centered touch to the evening. We were also honored to have a group of 5th grade students speak directly to the board, thanking them for their dedication and sharing how their experiences as Highland students are preparing them for their futures. Hearing firsthand how board decisions influence student success was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
To top off the evening, our board members were treated to a fantastic meal, prepared with lots of love by Nurse Nancy French.
