Cherokee Elementary School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students are “Beating the Odds” by demonstrating high academic growth on the ATLAS assessment — even while facing economic challenges outside of school.
Each year, the OEP publishes its Outstanding Educational Performance Awards, recognizing schools across Arkansas that show exceptional student academic growth. Growth is one of the strongest indicators of a school’s positive impact on students, and we are incredibly proud of our CES team for their continued dedication to student success.
Cherokee Elementary received the following awards:
🏆 High Overall Growth (Statewide)
🏆 High ELA Growth (Statewide)
🏆 High Overall Growth (Northeast Region)
🏆 High Math Growth (Northeast Region)
🏆 High ELA Growth (Northeast Region)
These growth scores reflect how much students at CES improved in 2024 compared to other students across Arkansas with similar prior achievement.
Way to go, Cherokee Elementary — your commitment, hard work, and focus on learning are truly making a difference! ❤️🤍🩶
